“A Place of Safety, A Path to Freedom”

About Us

Boone’s House of Refuge is a faith-based re-entry and restoration home where men find a safe place to heal, rebuild, and step into the future God intended. Inspired by Joshua 20, we exist as a modern-day “city of refuge”, a place of safety, accountability and new beginnings for those coming home from prison, overcoming addiction, or simply needing a fresh start.

We believe that everyone deserves a second chance and new opportunities. Through prayer, mentorship, life-skills training and community support, we walk with each resident from survival to stability to purpose. Our houses are more than a program; it’s a family that believes no story is too broken for redemption.

At Boone’s House of Refuge everyone is welcomed as a brother, not labeled by their past. He is given the tools for spiritual, emotional and practical growth, and released to live a life of faith, integrity and service to his community.

Meet Our Founder

Demetrius e. boone
Founder

The heart behind Boone’s House of Refuge was born out of his own story. He grew up walking a very difficult road. Experiencing his first incarceration at the age of twelve or thirteen and from there he found himself in the cycle of in and out of jail. He battled drug addiction for years snorting heroine, powered cocaine, consuming Exstacy pills, lean, marijuana, percocets and alcohol. He spent time in prison in Florida and even attempted suicide. For years his life was marked by pain, brokenness, hopelessness and a search for meaning that could never seem to be found.

But everything changed the night he met God and surrender his life to Christ. He had been out of prison for a few months and back to living the same life as before, drugs, partying, sex and criminal activity. He was tired of the same life and tried to end it all on night in the car garage of his home and his girlfriend’s son walk in on him and stop it from occurring. He checked himself in the VA hospital and met with the chaplain who gave him a card to a church and suggested that he get involve there. He checked out of the hospital and went back to the same ways of life. One night leaving the liquor store, he comes out and gets into his vehicle and throws his change into the armrest and sees the card to the church that he received from the chaplain a week before. He said to himself, “I’m going to go by this church and see what they’re talking about”

He walked into that church that night and his life was never the same from that moment. He met Christ for the very first time and he freed him from every drug addiction, destructive pattern and unhealthy mindset. Completely transformed! He was immediately called into the ministry of preaching and pastoring and is an apostle in the Lord’s church. He has now dedicated his life to turning pain into purpose and seeing lives transformed through the power of God. Pastor Boone is a U.S, Army veteran with two combat tours to Iraq as part of the 10th Moutain Division, he holds an associate’s degree in religious studies from Beulah Heights University in Atlanta and is currently completing a bachelor’s degree in leadership and ministry at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Ok.

He is a graduate of Destiny Training Academy for life coaching and mentoring. He was licensed to preach under Pastor Samuel L. Pridgron, ordained in 2016 under the ministry of Dr, Christopher Bown of Living Faith Tabernacle and currently serves under Apostle Ron Toliver of Kingdom Revealed Global Alliance. An author of three books-Spiritual Increase: The Art of Fasting, It Shall Come To Pass and I Can’t Take This Anymore. He volunteers as chaplain/minister at Tift County Law Enforcment Center, Avon Park Correctional Facility and making his way into Washington State Prison. He organizes street evangelism efforts and homeless feeding programs through the ministry he covers Radical Faith Church. His military decorations include the Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal. Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ “M” Device.

What compels Pastor Boone to lead Boone’s House of Refuge is both personal and universal. He said, “Every time he steps foot on a prison compound to minster to inmates, he remembers when he was an inmate, and the desire to see men set free grows every time”. He also has seen a beloved brother battle addiction for two decades and recently completed a recovery program designed like BHOR, and Pastor Boone longs to replicate that same transformation for many others. “My eyes have been opened to the truth,” he says. “I see the destruction in the world, and I want to reach as many people as I possibly can before it’s too late, so they can experience the same freedom I have”. His life stands as a testimony that everyone can change with the help of God!
